PlayNitride Plans 2022 IPO

What They Say

PlayNitride is aiming to break even by the end of 2023, Digitimes reports, and plans to start public trading of its stock with an IPO on the Taiwan Stock Exchange Innovation Board later this year.

What We Think

I keep meaning to go through what PlayNitride showed at Display Week this year. The range of what the firm is doing is impressive. Korean technologists can be hard to impress, but in an article in the Elec at the end of May, Korea University professor Hong Moon-pyo is reported to have highlighted what PlayNitride has been doing to develop its mass production technology for microLEDs. He rates the firm as having the most complete transfer technology. He quoted the proportion of cost coming from the mass transfer process as down to 10%, now. (BR)
