What They Say
Last week the Taipei Times reported that microLED developer PlayNitride had made its debut on the Taiwan Stock Exchange’s Taiwan Innovation Board – the first company to trade on the new board and the first IPO for a microLED developer, we think. The firm has posted a loss ($40.36 million) but its revenue for this year so far is up 255% from last year to $7.29 million.
PlayNitride mainly produces six-inch microLED wafers and manufactures 1,500 to 2,000 units monthly, PlayNitride chairman Charles Li said at the launch.
What We Think
It’s a sign of the development of the industry to see an IPO. (BR)
