VR and AR company Pico Interactive, based in Beijing, China, has announced the conclusion of its Series A round of funding, having raised $24.7 million for its forthcoming standalone headset. GF Qianhe and GF Xinde Investment contributed to the funding efforts, with participation from Jufeng S&T Venture Investment and others.
Pico develops VR hardware which runs on HTC’s Vive Wave platform. Following the funding announcement, it also revealed some information about its China-exclusive Pico G2 device.
The headset is an update of the company’s Pico Goblin product, powered by the Snapdragon 835 mobile chipset. It will incorporate 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, expandable by up to 256GB via a micro SD card, as well as “3K” binocular resolution, 75Hz refresh and a 101° FoV.
