What They Say
Prad.de reported on a new Philips ‘Business Monitor’ with 27″ and UltraHD that is available in China. So far, so ‘meh’. However, this 27″ monitor has an OLED panel with certification to DisplayHDR 400 True Black and peak luminance of 540 cd/m². WCG is 150% of sRGB, 99.7% of DCI-P3, 99.6% of AdobeRGB and a Delta-E value of less than 1. Features include 90W of PD charging and an integrated KVM.
Pricing is said to be around €1,000.
What We Think
It’s hardly surprising to see TPV bringing out an OLED monitor, it would have done some work, no doubt with its OEM partners already. Still, this is the first desktop OLED model under the firm’s managed brands that I remember seeing. Pricing will keep the monitor in the niche segments but some content creators will love it, although the limitation to 60fps will mean that gamers won’t want it. (BR)
