What They Say
PanelSemi Corp of Taiwan, which has set itself up as a foundry for active matrix LED displays (think TSMC for mini and microLEDs) has released a video on LinkedIn that shows a 110″ miniLED display that was shown at Computex, Taipei. It previously showed a 55″ at CES this year and at Touch Taiwan last month. (PanelSemi Launches a Flexible 55-inch miniLED Direct-view Display)
Intriguingly, the display is reported to be made of 9″ tiles. The firm specialises in active-matrix miniLED systems.
What We Think
I suspect these modules are based on LTPS on a flexible substrate as the video appears to show continuous curves as the display is manipulated. As we have previously reported, the firm is working with Innolux on some projects (among others).
If you are at all interested in flexible or LED displays, it’s worth a look at the video. (BR)
