The Elec reports that Samsung’s Display business as well as LG Display should report record sales and operating profits at $6.6 billion/$358 million and $6.19 billion/$457 million respectively. Both will be well up on last year, although LG is 46% up in sales, against 12% for SDC. Both made losses in Q1 last year.
Despite the strong operating profit, SDC is expected to report a loss because of the costs of getting out of the LCD business.
BOE is reported to be in line for profits of $800 million, up 900% on last year and more than its profit from the whole of 2020.
