Panasonic Unveils Four New 4K LCD TV Ranges

Panasonic filled in details of its LCD TV range which will ship in Europe alongside the OLED TVs announced at CES (Panasonic Keeps OLED for Studios in the US).

The 2018 models have 20% more peak brightness than last year’s models (and are 20% slimmer) and support HLG and HDR10+ (although firmware may not be available until later). The sets will also have support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. There is a game mode that keeps latency to a minimum – down to 20ms.

The FX780 (called the FX750 in the UK), FX740 and FX700 ranges will have extended colour gamuts, while the FX600 range will not.

  • FX750/FX780 – 75″, 65″, 55″ & 49″ with HCX processing (the same as the 2018 OLEDs) and local dimming edge backlights
  • FX740 range – 65″, 55″ & 49″ – same design as FX750, but no HCX and panel is less bright. (exclusive to Currys/PC World in the UK)
  • FX700 range – 65″, 55″ & 49″ – different design but other features like FX740
  • FX600 range – 65″, 55″, 49″ & 43″ – entry level UltraHD range with edge-based dimming and no WCG.

All the 2018 range support the “My Home Screen 3.0” Smart TV features.
