For the third year running, Panasonic System Solutions Asia Pacific is proud to be the official projection partner for i Light Marina Bay 2017, Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival held in the heart of Singapore.

The Marina Bay waterfront in Singapore is once again transformed into a spectacular outdoor showcase of sustainable light art installations from world-class local and international artists. Organized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), i Light Marina Bay 2017 features projection mapping shows that dazzle audiences every night from March 3 to March 26, 2017.

Since the inception of the i Light Marina Bay festival in 2010, Panasonic has been invited to participate in every edition of the festival for its leadership in projection solutions, excellent technical support, and strong partnerships.

This year’s i Light Marina Bay festival features light artworks based on the theme, “Light and Nature,” which explores the relationship between light, nature and the city. One such artwork, “Secret Galaxies,” was created by Singaporean audiovisual collective ‘Syndicate,’ featuring artists Brandon Tay, Kiat and Safuan Johari. This projection presents a confluence of visual imageries based on the humanistic relationship with the night sky at the ArtScience Museum. This installation is supported by 17 power efficient lamp projectors, PT-DZ21K, a 3-Chip DLP, 20,000 lumen, WUXGA projector. Instead of a grid-by-grid content alignment, reference points were processed by Panasonic’s ET-CUK10 camera software to form a seamless visual display, reducing set-up time by 80%.

In addition, this year also features a projection on Singapore’s iconic Merlion statue with “The Body of the Sea” by French multidisciplinary art and design collective, Danny Rose. This installation uses 3 units of Panasonic’s latest ultra-high brightness laser projector, the PT-RZ31K, 3-Chip DLP, 30,000 lumen, WUXGA.

The PT-RZ31K projector’s compact chassis allows quick and efficient setup, even for outdoor settings. Also, as a laser projector, it does not require regular lamp replacements, which in turn contributes towards environmental conservation by minimizing waste disposal.

Building on its successful partnership with i Light Marina Bay, Panasonic not only aims to be the No. 1 entertainment industry player but also a leading solutions provider. Through this festival, Panasonic hopes to bring to life the dreams and emotions of artists and provide enhanced customer value to the entertainment world. With a market share of 55% in the projector market (of more than 5000 lumens), Panasonic will continue to grow and maximize customer value in each country and region, and continue to be the brand that brings the arts closer to people through technology, providing everyone “A Better Life, A Better World.”
