Panasonic Lowers Prices for Shopping Season

Earlier this year, Panasonic showed its complete line-up of UltraHD TVs at CES 2015, and announced more information about them in February (Panasonic Goes All-Out With UltraHD). At the time, we heard about an entry-level range, but nothing more has been said about it until now.

Panasonic is introducing its CX Series in time for the end-of-year shopping season. These low-cost models enjoy very low prices, and will be available in the USA from December in-store, on online through Panasonic now.

Screen sizes range from 49.5″ to 64.5″, with cases in either black or matte silver; although identical internally, Panasonic distinguishes these models with the codes CX400 (black) and CX420 (silver). All TVs are smart and feature WiFi connectivity. All models are UltraHD and have a 120Hz refresh rate (‘effective’ on the smaller sets, native on the 64.5″ models).

Prices are $1,000 (launch price: $800) for the 49.5″ TC-50CX400U; $1,300 (launch price: $900) for the 54.5″ TC-55CX400U/TC-55CX420U; and $1,700 (launch price: $1,500) for the 64.5″ TC-65CX400U/TC-65CX420U.

We have contacted Panasonic for more details on the TVs and will update you when we know more.
