While Panasonic has decided to boost its share in Ficosa, a Spanish automotive company, from 49% to 69% to take control and operate the company as a subsidiary, Samsung Electronics, having already bought Harman, is reported by ‘The Investor’ to be in final talks about acquiring Magneti Marelli, a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Ficosa makes rear viewing systems (which will rapidly become digital video based, we believe) and a range of control and communication systems for automotive as well as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
