Panasonic Adds Light ID-Enabled LFDs

Panasonic has released two new LFDs, in the new SF2H series, that support the firm’s LinkRay modulated backlight technology. There are 70″ and 80″ models, TH-80SF2H / TH-70SF2H, both with edge-lit FullHD VA panels that output 700 cd/m² and designed for 24/7 operation in landscape or portrait orientation. Contrast is 5,000:1.

The sets include a USB-based media player and can also be used with a free CMS system that is available to run on Windows PCs. The playlist on the USB can also be controlled by a remote control. The displays have USB cloning for quick setup of multiple units.

Inputs include HDMI, DVI-D and VGA, but not DisplayPort. Control ports include RS-232 and RJ45 Ethernet as well as Panasonic’s version of HDBaseT (100Base-TX).
