CSOT Heralds Small/Medium G6 Fab
A new G6 LTPS facility has been opened by China Star Optoelectronics in China. CNY16 billion ($2.6 billion) was invested in the line. Around 30,000 high-end small- and medium-size LTPS panels will be produced monthly, say sources, rising to 88 million per month by the end of 2016.
iPhone Priority Pushes Back iPad Pro
The Wall Street Journal says that production of Apple’s 12.9″ iPad Pro has been delayed. Difficulties producing enough new iPhones to meet demand will apparently delay the tablet. Mass-production was scheduled for December (Bloomberg claimed earlier this year (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 34) that the tablet would reach the market in early 2015).
Smaller iPhone Outsells Larger Cousin
Statistics from mobile analytics firm Mixpanel show that around 20% of iPhone 6 handsets sold are iPhone 6 Plus models. In total terms, the 4.7″ iPhone 6 represents just over 6% of all iPhones and the 6 Plus represents 1.34%.

LG’s G Watch R will be shipped on 16th October, says Korea’s IT Times. The watch will be delivered to Korea ‘and other major countries’ and will cost about KRW320,000 ($295) ex VAT.
