Large Panel Shipments 7.7% Higher MoM

Taiwan’s four major panel manufacturers shipped a total of 23 million large panels in July, a 7.7% improvement from July and 3.5% higher year on year. Sharp Chooses Metal Mesh for Large-Format Touch

Sony Joins Allseen

Sony has joined the Internet of Things standards body, the Allseen Alliance. Current ‘Premier’ members now include Panasonic, Sharp, Haier, Qualcomm Connected Experiences, Microsoft and LG. The Alliance aims to promote interoperability between connected devices, using the Alljoyn open-source software. Sony has not committed to using Alljoyn yet.
