Demand has been growing for ARM’s 64-bit v8-A processors, the company has said. It has recently signed its 50th licensing agreement to produce chips based on the architecture. The licences, with 27 partners, are said to be for tablet, smartphone and enterprise chips.

Japan’s Fove has built a proof-of-concept head-mounted display with eye tracking. It is now preparing to release a developers’ kit in 2015. Fove says that its product may enable people with restricted use of their hands to simulate the use of a mouse and keyboard, using their eyes.
Himax Display, which manufactures LCOS microdisplays for Himax, is to enter a partnership with Optinvent – producer of the Ora Smart Glasses. The companies will aim to produce ‘next-generation’ AR glasses, using Himax’s LCOS technology and Optinvent’s retinal projection engine.
