Nintendo is set to release a new VR smartphone game and a dedicated gaming system, according to market watchers. Industry analyst Serkan Toto said that Nintendo is “looking” at virtual reality, and could soon invest in the industry.
Quantum Data has announced that its 980 series HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module will now offer an optional licence for the UHD Alliance test pattern pack. The pack can be used to assess a TV’s compliance to all tests in the specification, including HDR tone mapping, wide colour gamut and resolution.
Flextronics reported Q3 net profit of $149 million, down 3% YoY from $153 million. Turnover declined 4% YoY to $6.7 billion from $7.0 billion. For the nine month period, net profit was $382 million, down 18% YoY from $514 million. Turnover for the same period was $18.6 billion, down 7.7% YoY from $20.2 billion.
