OnePlus is a subsidiary of BBK Electronics (which owns Oppo and Vivo) and is aiming for the premium end of the market, although the display is more mainstream at 5.5″ and with FullHD resolution and using OLED technology. The display is fitted with Gorilla Glass 5. The new OnePlus 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, a 3,300 mAh battery with super-fast charging, 64 or 128 GB of storage, dual-sim support and Bluetooth 5.0. There is a a two-camera array (16 MP wide and 20 MP) on the rear that and a 16-megapixel selfie cam. Pricing is $479 for 6GB/64GB or $539 for 8GB/128GB.
Analyst Comment
As we went to press, OnePlus was in some trouble as it had been accused of cheating on benchmarks. This is, according to the XDA website, the second time it has seen this kind of behaviour. (BR)
