Samsung Display holds the lion’s share of the market, with 96.7%, due to the healthy sales of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, and is likely to remain strong with the release of the Note 8 and the new iPhone 8, rumoured to be making the jump to OLED.

LG’s new flagship smartphone, the V30, also features an OLED screen, while more and more Chinese manufacturers are making the leap from LCD to OLED.

Meanwhile, TV panels rose to 370,000 units shipped, a far more significant growth of 21.2% from Q1, and a massive 165% jump up from Q2 2016.

TV panel production is expected to increase gradually, with LG and Sony leading the way in the OLED TV market.
