The demand for OLED emitting materials is anticipated to reach 177 tons by 2028, according to UBI Research. In 2024, the total demand for these materials is projected to be 131 tons, with an expected average annual growth rate of 7.9%, leading to a demand of 177 tons by 2028.
This increase is attributed to several factors: Samsung Electronics has begun applying rigid OLED technology to its Galaxy A entry-level products, which has caused an unexpected rise in Samsung Display’s rigid OLED shipments. Then there is the expansion of OLED applications in IT devices, such as the iPad, is expected to drive the demand for emitting materials up to 2028.
The OLED emitting materials market is also projected to grow in monetary terms. UBI forecasts that the market will expand from $2.4 billion in 2024 to $2.7 billion by 2028. Korean panel companies are expected to increase their OLED emitting material purchases from $1.4 billion in 2024 to $1.5 billion in 2028. Chinese panel companies’ purchases are predicted to rise from $980 million in 2024 to $1.21 billion by 2028.
