After revealing the Q1’16 launch date, Oculus VR has shared pricing for its Rift headset.
Speaking at the Re/code annual Code Conference, CEO Brendan Iribe said that the Rift would be priced in the $1,500 range. That is an “all-in” price, he added – including the PC required to run the Rift. The headset alone should be significantly cheaper.
It has been estimated, based on the Rift’s recommended specs (Oculus Ignores Laptops, Apple Users), that a PC would cost about $1,200 – so the headset itself could be as little as $300.
