The EDaily News in Korea reported that Joosun Choi of Samsung said that mass production of QD-OLEDs would start on November 30th with 55″ and 65″ panels for TVs using MMG technology and also 34″ panels for monitors. The report said that initial yields were ‘about one third’ but higher volume is boosting production.
What We Think
There have been more and more drips of information and data confirming that sets could be in the market fairly early in 2022. The comments from DSCC in its Advanced TV report about Samsung’s challenges from OLED have highlighted that if all goes well with QD-OLED, it could be just the technology that the firm needs to stay ahead.
