NorDig, which coordinates the technical specifications for digital TV in the Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark) and Ireland, has decided to support the adoption of HbbTV 2, an upgrade from its current support of V1.5. The region will be the third, after the UK and Italy, to adopt this version. New devices sold in the market will have until 1st July 2018 to support HbbTV 2.0.1.
The move was, unsurprisingly, applauded by the HbbTV Association.
