No Need for Connected Devices With BenQ’s i500

The Colorific i500 is BenQ’s newest home entertainment DLP projector, combining a short throw distance, integrated wireless streaming and integrated audio.

Set-top boxes and other connected devices are not required to use the i500’s smart features. It is pre-loaded with apps such as YouTube, Spotify and Netflix. A game pad and controllers can also be purchased separately to use the projector as a gaming device. A USB media player is built in.

Images can be sized between 40″ and 200″, and an 80″ image can be thrown from 1m away (0.66:1 throw ratio). The projector has automatic vertical keystone correction (+/-40°) and a fixed zoom.

Resolution is 1280 x 800. An LED light source (lasting 20,000-30,000 hours) provides up to 500 lumens of brightness. Bright, Vivid, Cinema, Game and User-selected modes are built in. HDMI, VGA, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports are featured, as well as two 5W speakers.

The i500 measures 215.6 x 201.7 x 93.2mm and weighs 1.3kg. It is on sale now, for $750.
