Three years after its launch, Nintendo is closing its TVii service (Display Monitor Vol 19 No 38). TVii was intended to be a single interface for multiple content sources, using the Wii U Game Pad as a remote. However, it lacked popular apps such as Netflix. The news comes six months after Nintendo said that it would not launch TVii in Europe (Nintendo Abandons European TV Plans).
