Bloomberg reports that Apple TV will add UltraHD and HDR support to the next version, code named J105. Apple recently recruited Amazon’s Fire TV chief (Apple Hires Amazon’s Former Head of Fire TV). Bloomberg quotes date from eMarketer that suggests that Apple TV has lost share among viewers since 2015, with the percentage of viewers using the box dropping from 12.5% to 11.9%.
Analyst Comment
Bloomberg reported that the new box will have ‘more vivid colours’ and we have interpreted that as meaning that HDR will be supported.
