What They Say
Leyard released details of its TXP Series ‘MicroLED’ and miniLED Displays. The displays are intended for interactivity and are monolithic LED displays from 108″ to 162″ with pitches from 0.6mm to 0.9mm which by our calculations means UltraHD resolution. Leyard describes them as ‘Huddle Walls’ and they have an integrated Android system. The 108″ and 135″ versions are supplied with an IR-based multi-touch system. The firm said that the more robust design of the displays compared to traditional SMD manufacture obviate the need for a protective layer over the LEDs.
What We Think
We early reported on these units from an event in Germany, which suggested much bigger pitch. No IR on the big display is not a surprise. It would be nearly 80″ (203cm) high. Add that to the space below the display and it would be hard to reach the top. (BR)
