Extending its ultrabook range, Toshiba has announced three new Portégé models: the Z30-A-1CC, Z30-A-1CK and R30-A-191. Each uses a metal body and has up to 12 hours of battery life (nine hours on the R30), with 4G connectivity and Windows 7 Pro pre-installed (Windows 8.1 Pro is supplied on a DVD).
Measuring 13.9mm at their thickest point, the new Portege units weigh 1.2kg and are designed for business users. They have 13.3″ displays with an anti-reflective coating. Each features a Trusted Platform Module; fingerprint reader; Toshiba Easyguard for added security; a shock-resistant design; and spill-resistant keyboard.
A reliability guarantee means that customers can have their notebook repaired for free within one year of purchase. Toshiba will also refund the full purchase price.
All models have 8GB of RAM, a 256B SSD and Intel HD Graphics (4400 on the Z30 and 4600 on the R30). They also feature HDMI, USB 3.0 (x3) and RJ45 ports.
The Z30-A-1CC has a Core i5 (Haswell) processor clocked at 2GHz, and 1366 x 768 resolution. The Z30-A-1CK is identical, but has 1920 x 1080 resolution. The R30-A-191 has a Core i7 Haswell processor (3GHz) and 1920 x 1080 resolution.
