Japan’s Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper claims that the next iteration of Apple’s iPhone – the iPhone 6S – will feature an OLED display.
According to the source, a new OLED factory will build screens solely for Apple, indicating that the company is set to purchase in bulk. While OLED screens are more expensive to produce than LCD types, the iPhone 6S is said to have a smaller display than the 6 and 6 Plus (4″), which would keep costs down.
Besides OLED, the 6S is rumoured to feature a glasses-free 3D display, improvements to the camera and more, better RAM: doubled to 2GB of LPDDR4 rather than 1GB of LPDDR3.
