MMD Brings Designed for XBox to Smaller Sets

What They Say

MMD has launched two new monitors under the Philips Momentum Designed for Xbox branding and designed for up to 120Hz operation with the Microsoft console. There are 31.5″ (329M1RV and 27″ (279M1RV) versions, both with UltraHD resolution.

The 27″ uses a Nano IPS panel with support for DisplayHDR 600 and is Nvidia G-Sync compatible. DCI-P3 coverage is quoted at 98% and the unit supports USB Type-C connections. Pricing is £899 ($1,033 + tax)

The 32″ is certified to DisplayHDR 400 and is AMD FreeSync compatible. Pricing is £720 ($825 + tax).

Both units have Philips Ambiglow LED lighting for the surrounding area and are fitted with DTS sound.

What We Think

As I highlighted a few months ago in my Display Daily (Philips Gathering Momentum in Console Gaming Monitors), the criteria for the ‘Designed for XBox’ labelling seem to be a bit vague. These are not cheap monitors, but the specifications do look respectable. Philips initially launched 55″, so this is a bid drop down in size range. (BR)
