New Panasonic TV Interface Gets Good Reviews

More information is coming out about the Panasonic 2017 platform for its smart TVs, which is based on Firefox, although Mozilla has abandoned development of the OS. (Mozilla Stops Firefox OS Development). Panasonic is calling it My Homescreen 2.0

However, Panasonic has new features including support for Amazon Prime TV which may be in up to UltraHD in HDR, There is a new media player that supports HDR (HDR10 and HLG). Retailers that want tor run their own demo loops can create folders for looping content using the player. HLG is expected to be added to some 2016 sets by a firmware update and will be on all the sets in 2017.

Other features include a ‘My App’ button on the remote control that can be programmed to go directly to any app in the Smart TV section (e.g. NetFlix or Amazon).
