The first launch since HMD Global acquired the rights to the Nokia brand for smartphones (Nokia Brand Back in Smartphones) will be called the ‘Nokia 6’, will be made by Foxconn and will be released in China initially. The phone is an Android-based (Nougat) unit with a 5.5″ FullHD display using 2.5D Gorilla glass. It uses a Snapdragon 430 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable to 128GB). There are a 16MP rear and 8MP front cammera and the unit has a 3,000mAh battery. Sound includes support for Dolby Atmos and there is a Dual SIM. Connector is a micro-USB and pricing will be $250 when it ships in Q1.
Further devices are expected to be shown at MWC and there are signs that a variation on the 6 will be launched globally.
