Netflix encourages TV manufacturers to provide faster and better app experience for viewers. For 2017, the TVs that Netflix recommends are LG, Samsung and Sony, and these will will carry the “Netflix Recommended” logo, just as they did for 2016. The logo was originally introduced by Netflix in 2015.
The Netflix aim is being able to turn on a TV and use any app instantaneously, as linear TV would be.
The following models are Netflix Recommended for 2017:
- 2017 LG 4K UHD TVs with WebOS 3.5
- 2017 Samsung 7, 8, 9, and Q-series Smart TVs
- 2017 Sony Android TVs
Netflix evaluates TVs on factors such as speed, app memory, the latest version of the Netflix app, and more. It also helps if the manufacturer includes a Netflix button on the remote control to help get the “Netflix Recommended” logo. This year, Netflix has raised the bar and now when the TV is powered on, it should be possible to use Netflix or other Internet TV apps in seconds.
