Netflix has released its latest subscriber figures for the first quarter of this year.
The US subscriber base grew by 1.42 million with international subscribers growing by 3.53 million. Netfix’s projections were for a total of 5.2 million extra subscribers worldwide for this quarter, and they fell short by a quarter of a million. This resulted in the share price falling 3% in after-hours trading but recovered to finish at $147.25 a share.
Netflix now has 98.75 million subscribers globally, and the company expects the 100 million landmark to be reached within days. Netflix had revenues of $2.64 billion for the quarter.
