Netflix subscriptions increased by 5.2 million in 2017 Q2, bringing their total subscribers to 104 million, according to the company’s latest earnings interview report.
This figure represents a new record for Q2 subscribers and has been attributed to the quality and reception of the service’s original content. The company had forecast an increase of 3.2 million, so these results have significantly exceeded their expectations.
Last week, Netflix received a total of 91 Emmy nominations across 24 of their original shows, including Stranger Things, The Crown, House of Cards and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
