After revealing the projector at its Showcase last year (NEC Shows New Laser-Phosphor Projectors), NEC has shared more details about the PX803UL laser phosphor model. It is designed for industry sectors such as simulation, digital signage and utilities, as well as verticals like healthcare.
A 1DLP unit, the PX803UL features a sealed optical engine, and the light source will last up to 20,000 hours, enabling use in 24/7 applications. 360° projection is possible. NEC has also built in a constant brightness mode, which maintains a stable brightness level (although is likely to impact lifetime or brightness – TA). Warping and edge-blending are featured as standard.
The projector uses the same lenses as existing PX Series lamp-based models, such as the PX700W and PX800X. A new UST lens, with a 0.38:1 throw ratio, is also available. The projector can throw a 40″ – 300″ image from 0.5m – 54.8m.
Display resolution is 1920 x 1200, with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 8,000 lumens of brightness. DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, RS232 and RH45 (with HDBaseT) inputs are featured, as well as an OPS slot. The projector is also compatible with software applications like Crestron Roomview, AMX Beacon and PJ Link.
NEC’s new projector measures 500 x 583 x 216mm and weighs 28kg. It will be available in February, starting at $17,000.
