NEC Display Solutions Presents the Future of Digital Cinema at CineEurope 2016

NEC Display Solutions Europe will present its innovative cinema-wide offering at CineEurope 2016 in Barcelona, Spain on 20-23 June 2016, showcasing projection and display solutions for the next generation cinema experience.

Moving images have been at the heart of the cinema from the outset, and are now part of the entire cinema customer journey, beyond the main theatre screen. With its wide range of projection and display solutions, NEC Display Solutions will bring this vision to life at this year’s CineEurope, presenting its innovative portfolio of laser projection and digital signage solutions. From the building facade with advertising billboards, through the box-office and digital posters to the digital menu boards and the projection room, NEC ensures a high quality of visual experiences throughout the modern cinema.

The highlights on show will include the latest in laser projection technology which ensures exceptional image quality and trustworthy performance. With maintenance free operation, low power consumption and up to 20,000 hours’ life time of laser light source, cinemas opting for laser projection will benefit from a considerably lower total cost of ownership. Also on show will be:

· The small but powerful NC1000C dual lamp projection solution for theatres with small screens or small projection booths and mobile cinemas. Space saving and transportation friendly, this compact solution with exceptionally low operational costs is perfect for cinema screens up to 10 metres. The NC1000C will be available in September 2016.

When configured in a two projector stacking setup, the NC3540LS is capable of delivering up to 70,000 lumens of brightness, ensuring a truly immersive experience for cinemagoers and perfect for installations with large theatre screens. The NC3540LS will be available in November 2016.

Mark Kendall, Cinema Business Development EMEA at NEC Display Solutions Europe comments: “NEC continues to build on its rich heritage in digital cinema, bringing new innovation that help the industry adapt to increasing customer expectations, achieve cost efficiencies and ultimately attract new visitors. Modern cinemas are seeking to create an exciting experience for cinemagoers from the moment they approach the cinema until they leave it. NEC is helping them meet these challenges, whilst shaping the future of digital cinema. Recently we celebrated a milestone in digital cinema projectors with installation of our 10,000th unit. This event is a great platform for us to present our vision for the future of the industry and connect with key voices in the European theatre and cinema community.”

Celebrating its 25th year anniversary, CineEurope is the largest and longest running European convention and trade show for the cinema community. Bringing together theatre owners, operators and industry partners, CineEurope offers a platform to share knowledge on the latest trends and issues; learn about new technologies and services; and exchange ideas on how to create an exciting experience for cinemagoers and keep audiences coming back to theatres.
