NASA is using touch screens as part of its “commercial crew program” to help train astronauts for a mission to the International Space Station. The simulator is designed to copy the control configuration of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft, which will visit the International Space Station in 2017 or 2018.
The training devices will be shipped to the Johnson Space Center in Houston early in 2017. They will also be paired with a full-size CST-100 simulator.
