Nanosys Achieves EPA Approval

Nanosys says that it is the first quantum dot manufacturer to complete the USA’s Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) New Chemicals Programme review process. Approval of this process enables Nanosys to continue its production scale-up of QDs. Until Nanosys’ approval, all QDs in the USA were manufactured under the EPA’s Low Volume Exemption rule, which only applied to production of 10,000kgs (or less) annually. Nanosys is able to produce more than 22,500kgs at its California facility.
