NanoLumens has completed the installation of nine custom-designed Nixel-series LED displays in Toronto Pearson, Vancouver, and Montreal Trudeau international airports in Canada.
In December 2014, NanoLumens installed a 20′ x 4′ (6m x 1.2m) double-sided display at Montreal Trudeau, which was followed by two 24′ x 2′ (7.3m x 0.6m) 360° (displays four months later. This was followed by further installations at Vancouver International and most recently Toronto Pearson International, where NanoLumens created a flower petal display.
This display includes four LED-backlit flower petal shapes, that arch up and out from the centre, each fitted with a 6′ by 12′ (1.8m x 3.6m) curved 5.4mm pixel pitch display. The petals are made from translucent Corian, with multi-coloured LEDs inside each petal that allow for changes in pattern or colour. Beneath the petals is a 360° “halo” display that is used to provide seasonal and terminal-specific information and adverts.
Almir DeCarvahlo, VP of sales, NanoLumens, stated that, as air travel continues to grow, airports are installing high-impact LED displays that can be seen clearly from any area within a terminal by airline customers.
