A recent audit by Skytrax has awarded 5 stars to Munich Airport again for its facilities for travellers. The airport is the only European 5 star airport, one of seven worldwide.
What We Think
Munich airport has a lot of digital signage and displays. I attended a walk-around during one of the Invidis events that took place there and it was fascinating to hear airport staff talking about the desire to make the venue a tourist destination in its own right. Often, until then, I had heard airport management was often about minimising traffic, rather than encouraging it!
Then again, any airport with its own (excellent) microbrewery in the terminal, already has a head start as far as I am concerned. Bitte noch ein helles!
(after writing, I realised that this year has been very unusual for me – I have been in Munich several times per year for the last twenty! (BR)
