Mitsubishi Unveils Asia-Pacific’s Largest Diamond Vision Screen

Mitsubishi Electric has unveiled “CVision”, the largest Diamond Vision LED display in the Asia Pacific region at the Sogo department store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

The screen, which commences operations on October 27th, measures 72 x 19 metres and displays six vertical 1080p images connected to form one large picture.

CVISION uses Mitsubishi’s own LED chips with black outer packages—which increase contrast when the display is operational and reduce brightness when it isn’t—and short louvres that maximise contrast in direct sunlight, increasing it by 50% when compared to the company’s conventional displays. The screen also has an 80° downward viewing angle, markedly higher, it claims, than the “industry standard” of 45°.

Diamond Vision screens are in use at 950 locations around the world, including Alta Vision in Shinjuku, Tokyo and 1535 Broadway in Times Square, New York
