Microsoft is reported to have invested in Cyanogen, a company which offers an alternative Android mobile operating system to Google. According to a blog post in the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft would be a minority investor in a $70 million ($) round of equity financing which is expected to grow with other strategic investors keen to loosen Google’s control over Android.
