What They Say
We reported on the new Surface Duo the other day, and a little time later we spotted a review of the display by DXOMark. However, the review was, sadly, of the 2020 version and it’s fair to say that the tester was underwhelmed by the OLEDs used. It found that it was barely readable under sunlight, lacked smoothness when scrolling and had little dark detail in HDR modes. Further, the hinge hid some content when using the two displays as a single screen.
What We Think
It’s a shame that DXOMark is so far behind – although I guess this review might have been available to paying customers earlier. It’s good to have another source of technically competent reviews, but DXOMark’s historic emphasis on cameras seems to be continuing. (BR)
