MDM Product Roundup – Vol 23 No 24

Amazon has refreshed its Kindle eReader, making it lighter and thinner. The new model will weigh just over 160g (about 16% less than the existing model) and will be 11% thinner. Storage will also be doubled, and it will be Bluetooth-enabled. This basic Kindle model will cost $80 when it launched in coming weeks.

Huawei‘s 12″ Matebook convertible PC (Huawei Lays Down Productivity Gauntlet) will be released in the USA on the 11th July. It will cost $700.

Two new Chromebooks have been spotted from Lenovo and HP. The Lenovo model appears to be an addition to the N22 lineup launched in March, with an IPS panel and a touch display. It was found by Brent Sullivan on Google Plus. The HP model was seen in an offical document and is apparently called the 11 G5 (http://tinyurl.com/jyp6ajj). It will have an 11.6″ (1366 x 768) display, with both touch and non-touch models. A 1.6GHz Intel Celeron processor, 2GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage will be available. Release dates were not leaked, but these models will probably be available for the back-to-school season in August/September.
