Korean firm Material Science has begun development on an efficient blue TADF emitter, according to OLEDNet.
Material Science currently supplies OLED manufacturers with electron and hole transport layer materials. The company’s sales reached $5.8 million in 2016, and are estimated to exceed $8.8 million this year. The company is reported by Korean sources to have developed dopants for blue that can compete with Idemitsu of Japan, which has been supplying both LG Display and Samsung. To avoid breaching patents, the companies need to also buy host material from the company that supplies the dopant. The blue is said to have a better lifetime and efficiency.
