Magnetic Slims Bezels for 3D Videowall

Magnetic 3D has produced a super-narrow bezel, glasses-free 3D display for use in videowalls. The ‘Empreza’ is a 46″ LCD display using a direct-LED backlight, lenticular 3D lens (also called Empreza) and a 5.9mm bezel.

Benefits of the Empreza lens, according to the company, include a higher contrast ratio than previous products (3,500:1), more 3D viewing zones (nine) and increased brightness (500cd/m²) and sharpness. The display and optics were redesigned while developing the display and the playback hardware and software was re-engineered.

Videowalls up to 4×4 can be supported, with a viewing distance of 2.7m – 7.3m. 3D viewing angles are 50° (2D are 178°) and the display has 1920 x 1080 resolution. It also features HDMI, DVi, VGA, component, USB and RS232 inputs.

The Empreza monitor will have an individual price of $8,000, but videowall bundles are available that also include the 3D videwall server, player, a client-branded 3D poster, technical support for one year and all the necessary cables. They range from 1×3 ($33,000) to 4×4 ($150,000).
