Light Phone 2 is a new project on Indiegogo intended to create a new simple phone, based on an E Ink display that can be used for text messages and notifications. The phone is 4G compatible, but has very limited functions for those that do not want to be caught up with a full-featured smartphone. The full specification is to be decided in discussions with backers but it looks to us as though the display will have touch to allow a virtual keyboard.
The handset is advertised as $225 for early adopters, with an eventual price of $400 and available in the spring of 2019.
