LGD Will Retool LCD Lines for OLED

According to Japan’s Nikkei newspaper, LG Display will invest KRW850 billion ($718 million) in the LCD production lines at its Paju factory, in order to convert them to OLED. The retooling is scheduled for completion in 2017, and will increase LGD’s capacity for large OLED panels by 70%.

This announcement is separate from last year’s news, that LGD would add new production lines for OLED panels at the facility (LGD Confirms Plans for Large OLED Factory).
