LG Display has started manufacturing OLED rear lights for the Mercedes Benz S-Class Coupe. The company is also in discussion with two other German auto makers but was not prepared to identify them at an event in Seoul, Korea, and reported by Nikkei. LGD is very optimistic about the potential for OLED sales for lighting in automotive applications, especially when they become autonomous, as it expects passengers to want to do other things and will need light.
