LG Chemical has shown off a hexagonal battery, for smartwatches, which it says will bring up to four more hours of lifetime every day. The idea is that the shape will enable larger batteries to fit in round smartwatches – like LG Electronics’ Urbane watch – than existing rectangular batteries. LG Chem told the Korea Times that it is working with a technology firm (probably LGE itself) to develop the device.
