The Korea Herald reported on patents for OLED materials filed in South Korea. LG companies lodged 939 patent filings from 2015 to 2019. Samsung was second with 442 filings and Doosan fourth with 203. The three companies accounted for two thirds of all filings. 3,067 filings were made over the period with just 16.2% being lodged by overseas companies.
Dopant patents totalled 132 from 2017 to 2019 and LG Chem accounted for 103 of them, with foreign companies filed 22.
